Heart attack symptoms can differ between men and women. While chest pain is a common symptom of a heart attack in men – only about half of all women who have a heart attack actually report chest pain. Symptoms for women can be less vague and have a combination of less-recognised symptoms such as:

  • Nausea
  • Indigestion
  • Fatigue
  • Lightheadedness
  • Dizziness
  • Sweating

Women are less likely to seek help quickly and tend to attribute those types of symptoms to non-life threatening conditions that are not heart related, such as indigestion, cold and flu or even stress and anxiety.
